Super Eagles Land in South Africa Ahead of World Cup Qualifier Against Lesotho

The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, have arrived in South Africa as they prepare to face Lesotho in their opening 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match.

Led by head coach Finidi George, the team touched down in Johannesburg earlier today and will continue their final training sessions before departing for Maseru, Lesotho’s capital, where the crucial qualifier will take place.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), all invited players are now in camp, including key stars such as Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze, and Wilfred Ndidi. The squad is reportedly in high spirits and ready to secure an early win in the qualifiers.

Fans across Nigeria are hopeful the Super Eagles will begin their campaign strongly after a disappointing AFCON run earlier this year. The match against Lesotho is scheduled to hold this Friday, with kickoff at 5:00 PM local time.

More updates on the team’s preparation and match highlights will be provided as the qualifiers progress.
