Exclusive: Two Suspected Coup Plotters On The Run As Military Makes More Arrests
Two military officers are currently on the run after being named among those allegedly involved in a plot to terminate Nigeria’s democratic government, according to credible military sources who spoke with TheCable.
The military high command has intensified efforts and continued to make more arrests following the preliminary interrogation of 16 suspects apprehended in the first week of October in connection with the failed coup plot.
Reports indicate that a total of 18 officers were initially marked for arrest, but two managed to escape and are now believed to have fled the country to evade detention.
Among the officers declared wanted is Major JM Ganaks, bearing service number N/14363, who hails from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Sources revealed that Ganaks, a member of the Regular Course 58 of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), was stationed at Jaji, Kaduna State before going into hiding.
The military continues its search for the fugitive officers as investigations deepen into the alleged conspiracy aimed at undermining Nigeria’s democratic system.
