Gov. Uba Sani Moves to Unlock Kaduna’s Massive Agricultural Potential
Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has taken a bold step towards transforming the state’s agricultural landscape. During an official working visit to Bucharest, Romania, the governor described the trip as a significant milestone in Kaduna’s drive to unlock its vast agricultural potential.
The highlight of the visit was the signing of a $120 million Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Kaduna State Government, African Industries Group led by its Chairman, Mr. Raj Gupta, and the Bank of Agriculture. The partnership is aimed at revolutionizing irrigation farming in Gurara and establishing a modern greenhouse project in Gujeni, both located in Kaduna State.
Governor Sani noted that the collaboration extends beyond just investment. It strategically positions Kaduna as a future hub of agro-industrial excellence. By leveraging the State’s Special Agro-Processing Zone (SAP-Z) and the Africa Quality Assurance Centre (AQAC), the initiative will empower farmers to compete globally, strengthen food security, create rural prosperity, and provide quality jobs for the youth.
He also highlighted Romania’s renowned agricultural expertise and strong connections with the European market, stressing that the cooperation would enhance Kaduna’s role in international trade. According to the governor, Kaduna is building a resilient, globally connected economy where prosperity is shared by all citizens.
“This partnership is a defining moment for our agricultural sector. It is about empowering our people, boosting productivity, and making Kaduna a global player in agriculture,” Governor Uba Sani said.
