Praise for resilience and inspiration

Recalling her 2023 record-breaking cook-a-thon

The First Lady highlighted Hilda’s remarkable achievement in May 2023, when she successfully completed a four-day cooking marathon in Lagos that earned her a Guinness World Record and made her a household name.

“Since your grand announcement to the world two years ago, precisely in May 2023, when you became a household name following the completion of a cooking marathon in Lagos, you have become an inspiration to millions of young girls across Nigeria and beyond.”

Celebrating the Akwa Ibom ‘can do’ spirit

Helen Obareki noted that Hilda remains “an embodiment of the true Akwa Ibom ‘can do’ spirit,” and expressed pride that her latest record-breaking pursuit is further showcasing Akwa Ibom and Nigeria’s culinary prowess on the international stage.

“Your latest desire to further expand the global frontiers of innovation and passion in culinary mastery is taking you to a height of confident resilience, as you work towards setting a new record, in the process putting our renowned cooking prowess on the world map.”

A message of encouragement and hope

The First Lady encouraged Hilda to continue breaking boundaries, generating new ideas, and motivating young people, especially girls and women, to eliminate the word “impossible” from their vocabulary.

“I celebrate excellence and hard work, hoping that this journey propels you to break boundaries, birth new ideas and communities, as well as motivate more young people, especially girls and women, to eliminate the word ‘impossible’ and go ahead to shatter stereotypes and limitations, in living their dreams.”

Joining thousands in support

In her concluding remarks, Helen Obareki joined the thousands of fans and supporters who have converged at the venue of Hilda’s cook-a-thon, declaring that the state and the nation are rooting for her success.
